Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and Racoon Ops ("Racoon Ops", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the TreadGrid service.
1. Service description
TreadGrid is a private service operated by Racoon Ops that helps Ontario tire collection sites document used tire pickup demand, organize pickup requests, and connect with appropriate service providers where available. The Ontario tire recovery system is governed by the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and O. Reg. 225/18 (Tires Regulation), administered by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA).
TreadGrid is not RPRA, not a government agency, and not a Producer Responsibility Organization. Legacy programs under the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 have been wound down; this service operates in the current RRCEA framework only.
2. No guarantee of pickup
A submitted pickup request is an operational record, not a guarantee of pickup. Pickup timing depends on service provider availability, legal eligibility, site access, tire volume, region, route density, and applicable regulatory requirements. We may reject, block, or delay requests where information is incomplete, risk is elevated, or the service model has not been legally cleared.
3. Account authorization and accurate information
By creating an account, you confirm that you are authorized to submit information for the business location identified in your forms. You must provide accurate site details, tire counts, and storage information. You must not submit hazardous materials, non-tire waste, false counts, misleading locations, or requests for sites you are not authorized to represent.
4. Data sharing with service providers
You consent to Racoon Ops collecting and using your business contact information, site information, tire counts, storage notes, and uploaded evidence through TreadGrid for account administration, service validation, pickup coordination, compliance records, and operational communication. We may share necessary pickup request details with verified service providers, including registered haulers, processors, retreaders, and Producer Responsibility Organizations, where required or appropriate for service delivery or compliance.
5. Fees & membership
Any TreadGrid fee is a private commercial service fee charged for coordination, documentation, route planning, priority handling, reporting, or related administrative services. It is not a tax, not an RPRA fee, not a government eco fee, and not a mandatory regulatory charge.
Membership requires a 12-month minimum commitment, billed monthly at the selected tier: Weekly ($299/month), Bi-weekly ($199/month), or Monthly ($145/month). Cancelling before the end of your 12-month term incurs a $500 early termination fee (private service fee). After 12 months, you may cancel without this fee subject to our cancellation notice policy.
Each scheduled pickup includes up to 1,000 kg (1 metric ton) based on our tire weight estimation system (RPRA conversion factors). Weight above 1,000 kg on a pickup is billed at $0.13 CAD per kg as a private service overage fee. Final overage is based on actual weight recorded at pickup.
6. Dispatch and compliance gate
Dispatch, hauler assignment, and route coordination features require compliance gate clearance before activation. During beta, dispatch may be disabled while RPRA registration pathways and hauler partner structures are confirmed.
7. Record retention
We may retain operational pickup records, chain of custody records, audit logs, and consent records for at least five years, consistent with O. Reg. 225/18 record-keeping expectations and legitimate business, legal, and insurance purposes.
8. Suspension
We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or create legal, safety, or network integrity risk.
These terms are starter business copy for beta review, not legal advice. Confirm your operating model with RPRA and environmental counsel before enabling dispatch or accepting payment.
